QT 3.6.4.h - Quote source: CyberTrader

I'm confused.

CyberTrader is the quote source, index source, backfill source, news source, etc.

When I request all indices I get...

^DJI,^SPC,^IXIC,^TICKQ,^TRINQ,^NYA,^SML,^SOXX,^VIX,/ER2Z5,/ESZ5,/NQZ5,^TIC.N,$VOLT,$COMPX,$DJI,$NYA,$SML,$SOX,$SPX,$TICK,$TICQE,$TRIQE,$VIX

...even though CyberTrader doesn't use the uphat (^) for indices.

When I go through the complete list above and request histories, I get data for all except for the dollar ($) ones with the exception of $VOLT, which does work.

The Data Sources / Indices dialog doesn't show any uphat index symbols. In the past I've used Scottrade for indices and they do use the uphats.

What do I call the $ indices in order to get their data? The $ indicies do update just fine on the index panel.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bruce

The ones with the ^ are the internal symbol used by QT (ala Yahoo format) for the major indices in the panle to keep a "universality" across index data providers. Those are the ones that will return data.

Hi Mazel,

OK, So some translations are straightforward, e.g...
$DJI = ^DJI
$NYA = ^NYA
$SML = ^SML
$VIX = ^VIX

...and some are not, e.g...
$COMPX = ^IXIC
$SOX = ^SOXX
$SPX = ^SPC
$TICK = ^TIC.N
$TICQE = ^TICKQ
$TRIQE = ^TRINQ

...while some are not universal enough, so the $ works, e.g...
$VOLT

Could you post a list or URL of the universal YAHOO index symbols?

I use the ones from: cybertrader futures and indices

Since QT knows the translations it would be nice, in the future, if I could request native or universal symbols. When I requst all indices from QT I receive both types of symbols.

Thanks,
Bruce
